Golf Pad GPS Rangefinder & Scoring App
My first review is on Golf Pad GPS, an app available on Android and iPhone, which I started using this season. I’m in a golf league, with friends I have known since grammar school. We normally play 16 weeks, but this year, due to the pandemic we were reduced to 10 weeks.
During this time, and other rounds I have played through the summer I have used Golf Pad GPS Rangefinder & Scoring app. Previously I had used the paid version of another golf app, why not at $1.99? But, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Granted, Golf Pad Premium is a bit more expensive, but in my opinion it is well worth the price based on the additional features available. The free version is feature packed, but the yearly subscription for Premium is $20.00 (first year included in the purchase of TAGS™). More on TAGS™ in my next review coming shortly.
Golf Pad GPS is a great rangefinder and scoring app. It provides front/middle/back distance via GPS, scorecard for 1-4 players and you can take notes as you play and review scorecards fro previous golf rounds. But, I believe the main advantage to Golf Pad GPS is the ability to track all of your shots. You can track club distances, accuracy and putting. With TAGS™ all you need to do is tap your phone with your club and the app will automatically record the club and distance in real-time. The app will also give you club recommendations. You can then review all of your shots in the app, using the built in “View & Edit” feature either by view scorecard or view map. In the map view you can see each shot as you move through the hole.
The ability to see in-depth statistics like scoring, accuracy, distance, shot dispersion, putting and scoring has improved my game, and I believe it can help yours too. Premium also provides smartwatch sync, which I use on my Samsung Galaxy Watch. It’s much more convenient than pulling out your phone on every shot. You can do club selection and hole score on the watch also.
For years I was only a weekend golfer, and didn’t have an easy way to review my game. With Golf Pad GPS I now can review all of my shots on any course I played, anytime, anywhere! This has given me the opportunity to learn what distance I’m hitting a particular club and where on the course it’s going.
There are numerous tools and drills a golfer can utilize to improve their game. I believe the best tool is knowing just HOW you play.
Play the game you love, KNOW the game you play, and love the game you play!
